Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN Hosts First Annual 8-Ball Tournament

Shooting Star Casino, Hotel and Event Center proudly announce the first annual Shooting Star Labor Day Classic 8-Ball Tournament. This event takes place September 4-7, 2009 and is guaranteed to have something for everyone.

Taking place over the three-day weekend will allow the festivities to kick off with an open scotch doubles division Friday afternoon to warm up for the men’s and women’s open and masters’ singles divisions. The Shooting Star Casino is graciously adding $5,000 to this first event and welcomes players of all levels. “I love pool and I’m very excited to have the tournament here.

We’re expecting a great turnout and I just want everyone to have a good time,” said Dan LaFrinier, Event Center Sales Coordinator for the Shooting Star Casino. The billiard duo Mike Fieldhammer and Samm Diep have been enlisted to promote and
direct the tournament. “Being competitors ourselves, we know what appeals to the players. Our mission is to establish a must-attend pool event for everyone involved. We’re also planning plenty of drawings for early signups and other giveaways,” said Diep.
